The Stem Cell Poster Competition 2008

The work of the finalists and winners of the Stem Cell poster competition was on display at the MRC CRM Stem Cell Family Day, the CRM Launch Symposium and the Royal Society of Edinburgh's discussion forum: "Regenerative Medicine: how will it change my life?" Click here for more on the MRC CRM Family Day Each S2 and senior team consisted of between two and four students, with a supervising teacher. The teams provided content and initial artwork, while the graphics and printing facilities of the University (and Peter's help from SCI-FUN) were used to realise the final posters. The Winners....

The judges came to the following decision:
The winning Liberton S2 team of Lauren McHugh, Lauren Hand, Kirsten Kryzaniwsky (with an accompanying teacher) will be visiting the London Science Museum, at a date to be arranged. Liberton High School will receive £350. The Tynecastle Senior team winners each win a £50 Amazon gift voucher, and will visit the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine laboratories. Professor Sir Ian Wilmut will also give a stem cell talk at Tynecastle High School. Amazon gift vouchers were presented to all of the runners-up: £25 for second- and $15 for third-place. |
