Graphic design
Animation and 3D graphics

Some examples of our 3D modelling and animation clips are shown below. (Others can be seen on the Mathematics and Bioelectronics case study pages.)

Bioelectronics -- Giardia clip
Physics UCAS banner
One of several animations for a Bioelectronics talk, to give viewers an idea of the scale of the cells upon which complex electric fields are applied. We zoom into the working electrode structures on a microscope slide to examine a couple of Giardia. One cell is dead, the other alive, and the applied fields can be used to determine which is which.)
When making new artwork (especially for large installations) it's useful to be able to view the completed design in advance. In this simple case, a new School of Physics banner for use on open days was animated, to show people how it would look on the curved support structure, viewed from all angles. (This version is reduced in size.)
A simple faulting and folding animation
Differential stress
A simple animation (shown here speeded up) produced for an online GeoSciences course, showing the different kinds of basic fault and fold structures that can occur.
Another short animation for the online GeoSciences course, this time showing the effects of differential stresses on rocks.
