Graphic design
Banners and posters Working with print services in the College of Science and Engineering, we design and construct pull-up banners, and posters for a variety of target audiences and events. All posters and banners are produced at the standard 150 ppi resolution (though we will develop materials to higher resolution if required). Images are used for these larger-scale designs only if they are of suitably high resolution and image quality. Banners Click on the images below, for larger (but still small-scale) versions of some pull-up banners.
Posters Included below is only a small selection of the posters that have been produced over the last few years. Again, click on the image for a higher- (but not full-) resolution version. An overarching design LERU 2006 SCI-FUN was the University of Edinburgh's representative for the LERU Kids' University 2006 event, the theme of which was "Climate", in all its different interpretations. We decided that the Edinburgh contribution would be to show a variety of activities in schools across the entire College of Science and Engineering, each of which would involve some aspect of climate research. Each of these research topics would then be presented in a manner suitable for a schools audience, with the posters forming part of a themed display. The posters produced for the event are shown below, in reduced form. Clicking on the image will open a much larger version. (The LERU event page has larger versions of each individual poster.) Conference and event posters The posters below were advertising a forthcoming event. On the left is a conference poster for the 2009 Scottish Universities Summer School in Physics. As a theme we combined high- and low-technology, by constructing a "stone LHC circle", using Orkney's Ring of Brodgar. The poster on the right was the advert for the 2011 combined Darwin and Maxwell lectures. Mathematics The following are a few of the posters produced for the School of Mathematics. The first poster is part of a set used for UCAS visits, and describes some of the work carried out in Pure Mathematics. The central two represent posters produced to highlight the work of various members of the school, and the final poster gives more information on the work of the ICMS. |
