Working with the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine

SCI-FUN is pleased to have been working alongside the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine, in the creation and delivery of a new Roadshow presentation, the Stem Cells Show, described in more detail here.

From the MRC CRM's own site:

The MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) has been constituted to bring together world leading basic stem cell research with established clinical excellence to deliver a "bench-to-bedside" approach in addressing the challenges posed by degenerative diseases.

A launch symposium for the Centre was held at Our Dynamic Earth (ODE), on Monday 24th November, 2008.

SCI-FUN worked with the CRM to offer a Family Day event, open to the general public, on Sunday 23rd November, also at ODE. The event comprised stem cell exhibits, films and activities, as well as a range of SCI-FUN's own Roadshow hands-on exhibits.

In addition, the entries to the Stem Cells poster competition (open to schools who recently hosted the SCI-FUN/CRM Roadshow visits) were also be on display, and presentations were made to the winning teams. (Prizes include visits to the CRM, a school lecture from professor Sir Ian Wilmut, and a trip to the Science Museum in London.)
